ABC now accepting scholarship applications

The Associated Builders and Contractors San Diego Apprenticeship Training Trust is now accepting applications for its scholarship program for qualifying high school seniors in San Diego County.

Students currently enrolled in a construction class or training program in San Diego County are eligible to apply. Students must have a minimum 2.0 grade point average and be on track to graduate in the spring of 2013.

Students must submit the following as part of the scholarship application packet:

* A completed application form

* A one-page essay describing why the student wants to be a skilled trade craftsperson

* Examples of community service

* Letters of recommendation

* Construction experience through work, school projects or internships

These items and a current high school transcript must be submitted to ABC San Diego no later than Monday, April 1, 2013.
