The most famous kiss in U.S. history is coming to San Diego.
A newly cast bronze statue of a sailor kissing a nurse at the end of World War II has been towed from Trenton., N.J., to San Diego, where it arrived Monday.
The statue is scheduled to be installed on the waterfront by Valentine's Day, with a formal dedication on Saturday.
The statue stands 25 feet tall and weighs 15,000 pounds. It's a 3D version of a Times Square scene that was immortalized in a 1945 Life magazine photo.
Donors chipped in more than $1 million to have the statue made. It replaces a foam-core version that was on loan for several years and had to be returned.
