Leon Shapiro was named CEO of San Diego-based Vistage International Inc., replacing Rafael Pastor effective March 31.
Shapiro serves as chairman of the board at Vistage and is an experienced executive who has held leadership positions in other leading executive organizations including Gartner Inc. and The Advisory Board Co. Vistage International is a CEO peer advisory membership organization, with more than 16,000 members in 15 countries.
Pastor will transition out of his role as CEO effective March 31. Since joining in 2004, Pastor has led Vistage through a period of growth and a recent successful recapitalization. Pastor will continue to be a significant investor in Vistage and will remain a member of the company's board of directors.
In a meeting with his staff on Friday, Pastor stated, "We have a highly successful company because we have an extraordinary community of caring and gifted people. I eagerly look forward to continuing to serve on Vistage's Board and to helping Vistage reach its fullest potential."
