SD foreclosure rates down from '11

Foreclosure rates in San Diego-Carlsbad-San Marcos decreased for the month of December over the same period last year, according to CoreLogic.

The rate of San Diego-Carlsbad-San Marcos area foreclosures among outstanding mortgage loans was 1.24 percent for the month of December 2012, a decrease of 0.92 percentage points compared to December of 2011 when the rate was 2.16 percent.

Foreclosure activity in San Diego-Carlsbad-San Marcos was lower than the national foreclosure rate, which was 2.96 percent for December 2012.

According to CoreLogic (NYSE: CLGX) data for December 2012, 4.21 percent of mortgage loans were 90 days or more delinquent compared to 6.02 percent for the same period last year, representing a decrease of 1.81 percentage points.
