To celebrate the women in history, I want to share with you how N.N.Jaeschke Inc. began. In 1971, my mother, Nora N. Jaeschke, received an invitation to submit proposals for association management and landscape services. It took her weeks to prepare! But, she kept focused on her goal, determined to land her first contract.
At this time, an independent woman doing business was not the norm. Nora was undeterred. So, after taking her three daughters to school, she made the long drive to the other side of the county to present her proposals. She made her first presentation and waited. It was only an hour before the builder contacted her ... She won the contracts and landed her first account: Bonita Woods Park!
On the drive home to Rancho Bernardo, Nora stopped for a celebratory lunch at a café in Mission Valley. She waited near the hostess station, watching couples who had arrived afterward get seated first. After some time, a gentleman walked up next to Nora at the stand. "Oh good," said the hostess, "you aren't alone!" Nora quickly explained that she and man were not a couple, and she was dining alone. Incredibly, she was told the restaurant would not seat a woman unescorted by a man.
It was a big day for her, but she was now being turned away from a restaurant simply because she was a single woman. That moment, Nora promised herself that NNJ would be a different kind of place; a place where people could maintain their dignity while earning a living; a place that provided a hand up, rather than a hand out, regardless of a person's race or gender.
As she built N. N. Jaeschke Inc., Nora never forgot that promise. She was loyal to her vision, her clients, and to her hard-working employees. One of the first two employees Nora hired, Francisco "Pancho" Delgado, still works here, and the other worked at NNJ until retirement. When asked about Nora, Mr. Delgado said, "Nora believed in me even when I did not believe in myself!" He is not alone. People knew that she cared, and paid her back with their loyalty. NNJ currently employs numerous staff members who have worked at NNJ for 30 years or more.
Established by a strong, determined and passionate woman, NNJ has grown to be one of the largest and most respected HOA management companies in the country. NNJ proudly became a member of the Associa family in 2004, and continues to serve its clients with the same passion and dedication that Nora had in 1971 ... including Bonita Woods Park.
At Associa NNJ Inc., we offer management and lifestyle services beyond what you'll find anywhere else, designed to improve the lives of your homeowners. Come and see for yourself how it is possible to love your HOA with Associa NNJ.
