Accelrys, eMolecules unite on chemical compound info

San Diego’s Accelrys Inc. (Nasdaq: ACCL) and Solana Beach-based eMolecules Inc. today announced they are joining forces in an effort to provide better links between scientists and chemical compound suppliers.

Accelrys, a supplier of medical management software, maintains a database of currently available chemicals that will now include information about the compounds currently being stocked by eMolecules, a compound-sourcing company.

Matt Hahn, Accelrys' chief technology officer, says the two firms hope that by sharing their markets, they can "revolutionize the efficiency and reliability of compound acquisition."
