U.S. Bank uses Mitek imaging system

U.S. Bank, the nation’s fifth-largest bank, will next month begin using a balance transfer system developed by San Diego’s Mitek Systems (Nasdaq: MITK).

Mitek’s Mobile Photo Balance Transfer system will allow U.S. Bank customers to snap a photo of a credit card payment coupon using their mobile device and send it to U.S. Bank to apply for a balance transfer to a U.S. Bank credit card.

U.S. Bank will be the first leading bank to use the service. In the first quarter of 2014, U.S. Bank will also start using Mitek’s MiSnap, which further simplifies the process by automatically capturing the best possible image without the customer needing to “snap” the picture.
