Howard Schmidt added to CyberUnited board

Howard Schmidt, the former White House cybersecurity coordinator for President Barack Obama, has joined the board of directors for CyberUnited, a San Diego-based insider threat security informatics company.

Formerly vice chairman of Obama's Critical Infrastructure Protection Board, Schmidt is currently a principal at HAS Security, according to a release from CyberUnited. He has previously been president and CEO of the Information Security Forum, served as international president of the Information Systems Security Association; and been director of computer crime and information warfare for Air Force Office of Special Investigations.

He is the fourth member of the CyberUnited board, which also includes life sciences expert Malcolm Bohm, former Symantec chief information security officer Patricia Titus, and PUNCHCyber CEO Brent Wrisley.
