LOS ANGELES (AP) -- Authorities said the shooting death of a man who was found in a Los Angeles Valley College parking lot had nothing to do with campus activities.
County sheriff's officials say Sunday there were no classes on the San Fernando Valley campus when a wounded man was found outside his truck on the parking lot Saturday night.
Officials say 31-year-old Ricardo Zetino of Tujunga was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead.
The shooting was described as result of a “drug deal rip-off.” The choice of the college parking lot was random.
Authorities say two suspects were arrested Sunday at an apartment in San Jacinto. They were identified as 31-year-old Raheen Taylor and 25-year-old Derrick Wilson.
Los Angeles Valley College is a community college in Valley Glen.
