BERKELEY, Calif. (AP) -- A student at the University of California, Berkeley, has been arrested after being accused of beating another student, stealing his cellphone and making homophobic remarks.
University police said 19-year-old Joseph Donner attacked another 19-year-old student on campus late Tuesday night as the two were walking to Moffitt Library.
After making homophobic statements and demanding the victim's phone, Donner ordered the victim to go into a construction site at Campbell Hall and kicked and choked him.
The San Francisco Chronicle reports (http://bit.ly/1c3M8IV ) that Donner fled the scene and was later arrested at home.
