CLEARWATER, Fla. (AP) -- The candidates are Alex Sink, Democrat, and David Jolly, Republican. But Obamacare is on the ballot in a big way in a closely watched, competitive House race in Florida.
Republicans and their allies wouldn't have it any other way, as they test the issue's potency in a preview of the fall campaign for control of Congress.
One Republican Party mass mailer in the March 11 contest says seniors are losing their doctors because of Obamacare, but Alex Sink still supports it. Jolly's television ads call for repealing or replacing the law.
In a commercial, Sink counters that the country can't go back to letting insurance companies do whatever they want. She says that instead of repealing the law, the good parts should be kept and the bad ones fixed.
