The Bishopís School won the eighth annual San Diego County High School Mock Trial Competition March 1, topping a field of 28 teams. The competition places public and private high school students in an actual courtroom setting, where they assume the roles of lawyers and witnesses in a hypothetical case. The Bishop’s School will now advance to represent San Diego County in the California Mock Trial finals later this month.
The program was co-chaired by Hon. Yvonne Campos and Hon. Linda Quinn (Ret.). U.S. Magistrate Judge David Bartick served as lead scorer for the competition.
Torrey Pines High School and La Jolla Country Day placed second and third, respectively.
The mock trial competition was organized by the San Diego County Bar Association and San Diego Superior Court, together with the Constitutional Rights Foundation and the San Diego Office of Education.
