Strippers file claim against police

More than two dozen dancers from the Cheetah’s strip club filed a court claim on Monday charging that San Diego police officers held them against their will "to pose in various positions and expose various body parts" in order to photograph their tattoos.

The claim against the city of San Diego, which could be a precursor to a lawsuit, said 10 officers were involved in taking the photos, which the police department says is a way to identify the dancers for club permitting purposes.

But the claim came at an awkward time for the department -- on the same day that federal investigators announced they would be investigating allegations of sexual misconduct against several police officers, unrelated to the Cheetah’s charges.
