REDWOOD CITY, Calif. (AP) -- A man convicted in the 2001 murder of a 15-year-old boy in Daly City has been sentenced to life in prison without possibility of parole.

Erick Morales was 19 when he stabbed Quetzlcoatl (KET-sul-KWAH-tul) Alba in the neck and chest 13 years ago.

He was found guilty of first-degree murder in February. KRON-TV reports (http://bit.ly/1pPfVLJ ) Morales was sentenced Tuesday.

A co-defendant, Reynaldo Maldonado, was found guilty of first-degree murder in November and sentenced to 25 years to life in prison.

Prosecutors said Maldonaldo held the teen as Morales stabbed him.
