HUNTINGTON BEACH, Calif. (AP) -- A swimmer who died after being pulled from the water off Orange County has been identified as a 19-year-old Lakewood man.
The Orange County Register reports (http://bit.ly/1qFbrts) Damian Frierson Jr. had been swimming Monday with two friends, who saw him go under the waves and called emergency personnel.
Crews responding to the Sunset Beach area north of Huntington Beach found Frierson and pulled him from the water. He was rushed to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
