GM Plaintiffs Object to Bid for Renewal of Bankruptcy Order

April 23 (Bloomberg) -- Plaintiffs suing General Motors Co. objected to the automaker’s bid to secure a reaffirmation of the bankruptcy order that freed the reorganized company from most of the liabilities of its predecessor.

The car owners, who are suing GM for loss of value in their recalled vehicles, said the company’s position that it might aid accident victims and not customers with economic losses is “unsupportable,” according to a filing in U.S. Bankruptcy Court in Manhattan yesterday.
