Gas prices pause at high point

Most Southern California areas experienced very little change in gas prices over the last week as wholesale prices dropped, according to the Automobile Club of Southern California's Weekend Gas Watch.

The retail state average is $4.230 a gallon for regular as of Thursda, 3.4 cents more than last week.

The average price of self-serve regular gasoline in San Diego is $4.276, which is six-tenths of a cent above last week, 27 cents higher than last month, and 36 cents higher than last year.

In the Los Angeles-Long Beach area, the average price is $4.303 per gallon, which is unchanged from last week, 26 cents higher than last month, and 36 cents higher than last year. On the Central Coast, the average price is $4.301, up 1.9 cents from last week, 24 cents higher than a month ago, and 28 cents more than last year. In the Inland Empire, the average per-gallon price is $4.265, up seven-tenths of a cent from last week, 26 cents more than last month, and 34 cents more than last year.
