ATWATER, Calif. (AP) -- Sheriff's officials in the Central Valley say they uncovered a large marijuana operation with an estimated $6 million in pot plants and clipped marijuana buds.
The discovery came Thursday during a raid on a small rural farmhouse outside Atwater. Merced County Sheriff's deputies say they found more than 5,000 pot plants inside the home and on the property as well as about 120 pounds of clipped marijuana buds.
One person was detained.
Deputies tell the Merced Sun-Star (http://bit.ly/1lwzKFb) the growers were stealing power and water for the operation.
