San Diego police couple arrested in drug probe

SAN DIEGO (AP) -- Husband and wife San Diego police officers have been booked on several drug counts after an investigation by San Diego County Sheriff's Department.

Authorities say 32-year-old Bryce Charpentier posted $50,000 bail Thursday after being booked for investigation of sales of a controlled substance, being under the influence while in possession of a loaded firearm and conspiracy.

Forty-one-year-old wife Jennifer was booked for investigation of possessing a controlled substance, sales and conspiracy.

Deputies tell KFMB-TV (http://bit.ly/1lb7ADg ) that the couple was arrested around noon Thursday during a narcotics investigation in East County.

The department issued a release saying the couple had been placed on leave and their police power had been revoked. Charpentier has worked for the department for six years and his wife for 18 years.
