A drought and public safety forum organized by Chula Vista Deputy Mayor Pat Aguilar and Councilmember Mary Salas has been scheduled for next Monday in Chula Vista.
Aguilar and Salas have been appointed to an ad hoc committee to explore water availability and reliability issues during the drought that earlier this year prompted Gov. Jerry Brown to declare a statewide emergency declaration.
According to the city of Chula Vista, the forum will include presentations from representatives of the San Diego County Water Authority, as well as the Chula Vista fire and police departments. The roles of Chula Vista's emergency operations plan and the all-volunteer Community Emergency Response Team will also be discussed.
The forum has been scheduled for June 23 from 6-7:30 p.m. in the council chambers at Chula Vista City Hall, 276 Fourth Ave.
