RIALTO, Calif. (AP) -- Authorities say a homeowner in San Bernardino County fatally shot a man who broke into his home.
Rialto police Sgt. Paul Stella tells the Riverside Press-Enterprise (http://bit.ly/To3o8I) that a Rialto homeowner confronted the intruder and opened fire at him.
The intruder escaped but fell down in the home's back yard. He was taken to a nearby hospital and pronounced dead at 4:30 a.m. Sunday. He was identified as 20-year-old Andy Garcia of Rialto.
Police are investigating the incident and have not made any arrests.
