SAN BERNARDINO, Calif. (AP) -- A San Bernardino police officer suffered a concussion and other injuries after he was struck by a car while detaining two graffiti suspects.
KNBC-TV reports (http://bit.ly/1qu67t2 ) the officer was putting one suspect into his patrol unit Monday night when a sedan crashed into the vehicle and the officer.
Officials say he suffered back pain, cuts on his face and head and a concussion. He is hospitalized in stable condition and is expected to recover.
The driver of the sedan was taken into custody on suspicion of driving under the influence.
