SANDAG pilot program to offer 'teleworking' guidance

The San Diego Association of Governments is exploring "teleworking" with a pilot program offering employers resources to help them implement programs that allow workers to perform work away from the office.

The iCommute division of SANDAG, which administers the telework pilot, plans to offer a webinar on the benefits of telework from 11-11:30 a.m. on July 8. According to SANDAG, telework programs have proven benefits for both employers and employees, including increased productivity, improved employee retention, reduced demand for parking and office space, reduced stress associated with commuting, and improved job satisfaction. Applications to participate in the TeleworkSD pilot are due July 18. The project is expected to run through June 2015.

Employers chosen for the TeleworkSD pilot project will receive step-by-step assistance, including one-on-one consultation through the telework program's implementation. Information to the pilot is available at TeleworkSD.com.
