Gas prices on the rise

Fourth of July travelers will be spending about 10 to 15 cents more per gallon than last year at this time for their trips as gas prices continued moving up locally, according to the Automobile Club of Southern California's Weekend Gas Watch.

The retail state average is $4.14 a gallon for regular as of Thursday, 2.3 cents more than last week.

The average price of self-serve regular gasoline in San Diego is $4.151, which is 3.2 cents more than last week, 2.6 cents higher than last month, and 12 cents higher than last year.

In the Los Angeles-Long Beach area, the average price is $4.18 per gallon, which is 2.7 cents more than last week, 2.3 cents more than last month, and 13 cents higher than last year. On the Central Coast, the average price is $4.173, up 1.4 cents from last week, six-tenths of a cent higher than a month ago, and 9 cents more than last year. In the Inland Empire, the average per-gallon price is $4.143, up 2.9 cents from last week, 2.7 cents more than last month, and 12 cents more than last year.
