Teacher's aide sentenced in child molestation case

CLOVERDALE, Calif. (AP) -- A Northern California teacher's aide has been sentenced to more than 11 years in prison following his conviction on child molestation charges.

Authorities say 65-year-old Dyke Clyde Dewitt molested three teenage boys, at least two of whom were developmentally disabled. The victims included a student in Dewitt's class at Cloverdale High School in Sonoma County.

The Press Democrat of Santa Rosa reports (http://bit.ly/1ofb8mY) that Judge Gary Medvigy questioned at Thursday's sentencing hearing whether Dewitt had any remorse or understanding of what he had done.

Dewitt pleaded no contest earlier this year to child molestation and pornography charges. At least two of the victims were 15 years old.
