LA QUINTA, Calif. (AP) -- Authorities say a drunken man crashed a golf cart into a tree on an upscale course in the Southern California desert and was later found passed out in a nearby front yard.
The Riverside County Sheriff's Department says 73-year-old Gary Osborn was arrested Monday after the incident at PGA West in La Quinta, a country club and resort that is home to PGA Tour events.
Police say a woman had also been passed out on the course and woke up with dried blood on her face, but did not know where it came from. She told security she had been with Osborn, but did not know when they had split up.
Security guards looked for Osborn, found the cart crashed into the tree and found him on the nearby lawn.
Neither person was injured.
Deputies did not know if Osborn had hired an attorney.
