SACRAMENTO, Calif. (AP) -- Sacramento police are investigating the death of a baby girl who was taken to a fire station with a traumatic injury.
The Sacramento Bee (http://bit.ly/1mt5sry ) reports the 14-month-old girl was in a state of medical distress when she was taken to Sacramento Fire Station No. 17 on Friday evening. The baby was taken to UC Davis Medical Center where she was pronounced dead.
Police say the mother's boyfriend was taking care of the infant while the woman was at work. When she got home, the mother saw the girl needed medical help and she and her boyfriend took the baby to the fire station.
Investigators haven't determined a cause of death, but police say the infant suffered a traumatic injury.
Investigators have been interviewing the boyfriend. No names were released.
