OAKLAND, Calif. (AP) -- A reported bomb threat has forced the closure of a San Francisco Bay Area Rapid Transit train station, causing major delays throughout the system during the morning commute.
BART spokesman Jim Allison says a 911 caller on Friday morning reported hearing about a bomb threat at the Coliseum Station in east Oakland.
The station was immediately evacuated and closed.
Allison says bomb sniffing dogs are on the scene. There is no estimate on when the station will be reopening.
Trains were being turned around at the Bayfair and Fruitvale stations on the Fremont and Dublin-Pleasanton lines.
Allison says the agency is working on setting up bus shuttles between stations for hundreds of stranded commuters.
