July 31 (Bloomberg) -- The Institute for Supply Management- Chicago Inc.’s business barometer decreased to 52.6 in July from 62.6 the prior month.
The median forecast of 47 economists in a Bloomberg survey called for the index to rise to 63. Estimates ranged from 60 to 65. Readings greater than 50 signal growth.
The national factory index, produced by the Tempe, Arizona- based Institute for Supply Management, probably rose to 56 in July from 55.3 the prior month, according to the median projection in a Bloomberg survey ahead of tomorrow’s release.
