Rockstar renews Faraday lease in Carlsbad

Rockstar Games has renewed its lease on 52,726 square feet of office space at 2200 Faraday Ave., Carlsbad 92008, from Regent Properties Studio 2200.

The lease was renewed for eight years at $12.6 million. The space is used for a company that creates and produces such computer games as the "Grand Theft Auto" series and "Max Payne."

The lessee was represented by Scot Ginsburg, of Hughes Marino. The lessor was represented by Aric Starck, of Cassidy Turley Carlsbad.

The approximately 229,753-square-foot Faraday Corporate Center at 2200 Faraday was constructed in 1991, and sold to a Regent Properties entity in October 2013 for $40.4 million.

Earlier this month, another Regent entity acquired the 119,561-square-foot Research Center Pointe industrial building at 2210 Faraday for $16.35 million. Both Faraday buildings, 2200 and 2210, are now under a new $41,447,500 loan from General Electric Capital Corp.
