Labor Day weekend travelers are benefiting from seven weeks in a row of gas price drops, according to the Automobile Club of Southern California's Weekend Gas Watch.
The retail state average was $3.856 a gallon for regular as of Thursday, 2.1 cents less than last week.
In San Diego, the average price is $3.827, which is a penny less than last week, 15 cents lower than last month, and 1 cent lower than last year.
“As Southern California holiday travelers make their way out of town, they’ll be filling up at prices very similar to this time last year,” said Auto Club spokesman Jeffrey Spring.
