Ashford University assistant professor named 'Outstanding Business Educator'

Forbes School of Business at Ashford University Assistant Professor Dr. Irina Weisblat has been named Outstanding Business Educator at a College or University by the California Business Education Association (CBEA).

Weisblat was one of four individuals selected by her peers for outstanding teaching and service at the CBEA 2014 State Conference held at The Hyatt Regency Hotel in Monterey. CBEA is an organization recognizing, encouraging and promoting educational excellence in business disciplines.

Weisblat holds a doctorate in educational leadership with a specialization in postsecondary education from San Diego State University. She also has a Master of Business Administration in global management from National University and a Bachelor of Arts degree in English, with a concentration in teaching, from St. Petersburg University, Russia.

In addition to teaching undergraduate and graduate students, she has more than 15 years of professional experience in business, authored articles in refereed journals, published two workbooks on entrepreneurship and has been contracted to write a textbook on international business. She is past president of CBEA.
