In an effort to stimulate health and life science research and enterprise between California and Mexico, Merck & Co. Inc. (NYSE: MRK) and its subsidiary Merck, Sharp, & Dohme, have provided additional funding of $250,000 to San Diego Dialogue, a public policy research initiative at UC San Diego Extension.

California State University, San Marcos Extended Learning is offering entrepreneurs the opportunity to learn the basics of small business ownership by offering a business basics course.

The California Energy Commission has announced it is requiring NRG West to erect story poles that will show the height of its proposed second power plant on its Carlsbad coastal property located just north of Cannon Road, adjacent to the Agua Hedionda Lagoon.
