Marketing reception to focus on managing data

Russo joins PlainClarity

Boutique public relations firm PlainClarity Communications recently welcomed Susan Russo to its team.

Russo, a food writer, cookbook author and recipe developer, joins the team as a communications specialist.

PlainClarity focuses on clients who are socially conscious and/or family owned. The firm represents Terra American Bistro, Sea Rocket Bistro, The Red Door Restaurant & Wine Bar and Humphreys Restaurant, among others.

Cook & Schmid tapped for water campaign

Cook & Schmid has been selected by the city of Santa Monica to develop a water-efficiency marketing and behavior change campaign to reduce water usage by Santa Monica residents and help achieve the city's goal to be 100 percent water self-sufficient by 2020.

Brand Savant nabs ADDYs

Brand consulting firm Brand Savant, which has offices in both Riverside and San Diego, won a total of 14 ADDY awards in the Inland Empire, including "Best of Show," seven gold, four silver and two bronze at the annual American Advertising Federation, Inland Empire awards ceremony March 9.

All the ADDYs the firm received were for work on Riverside Medical Clinic.

At the San Diego ADDY awards, Red Door Interactive won a Silver ADDY for its work on behalf of Rubio's Restaurants Inc.

"What was exciting about this project is that it brought together team members from multiple disciplines – from strategy and creative to technical and user-experience – to produce a fun game that attracted and engaged consumers," said Lauren Dougherty, business supervisor at Red Door. "Not only were we able to generate in-store trials, but the game resulted in 19,000 shares on social networks and via email on the first day it launched."

Bailey Gardiner, Fishtank merge

Earlier this month, Bailey Gardiner and Fishtank Brand Advertising announced they merged to form a new company: i.d.e.a.

Bailey Gardiner, a marketing agency, was founded by Bailey and Indra Gardiner in 1995, and Fishtank was founded in 2004 by Ryan Berman and Mike Fennessy.

"BG and Fishtank have collaborated on numerous projects with outstanding results," said Jonathan Bailey, founder and chief relationships officer for i.d.e.a. "Although we have each built successful businesses to last seven to 17 years, we knew that uniting our complementary teams would allow us to better serve on a national level."
