Clearpoint contest offers free month of PR

Clearpoint Agency Inc., a public relations and marketing firm in north San Diego County, recently launched a contest for nonprofit organizations who will compete for receiving pro-bono PR and marcom services in the New Year.

Currently accepting nominations from local, regional or national 501(c)(3) organizations thru Dec. 31, the agency will select three entries to be reviewed by a panel of judges including Clearpoint clients and partners. Submissions will be accepted by visiting the agency's website and completing an online form.

Services rendered will be based upon the non-profit's needs and may include, but are not limited to, message development, press releases, blog writing, website content, social media and media relations.

AMA offers Pandora presentation

Join the San Diego American Marketing Association for an evening event with Pandora at the Hard Rock Hotel from 6-8 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 17 and hear a presentation from Dave Weiner, vice president of Pandora.

With more than 150 million registered users spending more than 1 billion hours a month on Pandora, the Internet radio service is capturing the attention of national and local brands alike.

The event is $35 for AMA members and $45 for general admission. Ticket price includes drink, appetizers and speaker presentation.

Scatena Daniels nabs pair of clients

Two San Diego County performing arts organizations have picked Scatena Daniels Communications as their agency of record: Malashock Dance and National Comedy Theatre.

Malashock, a modern dance company founded by John Malashock in 1988 has picked Scatena Daniels to lead their public relations efforts in conjunction with its 25th anniversary season.

For the National Comedy Theatre, the longest continuously running show in San Diego history, according to a press release, the agency will provide leadership and implementation for media relations and social media outreach strategies.

Nuffer Smith Tucker adds library, nonprofit

Nuffer Smith Tucker is implementing public relations, communications and interactive programs for the San Diego Public Library Foundation, Downtown Charter High and the San Diego Foundation.

NST is working with the San Diego Public Library Foundation to provide PR support leading up and through the opening of the new San Diego Central Library in East Village.

Additionally, Downtown Charter High, scheduled to open in August, has enlisted NST's help for branding initiatives. Located inside the new Central Library, the new charter high school will utilize 76,000 square feet of space on the sixth and seventh floors of the library.

In collaboration with Diamond Production Group, NST recently created a new video and public service announcement for The San Diego Foundation. The video highlights the role both the Center for Charitable Giving and the Malin Burnham Center for Civic Engagement play in the San Diego Community.

Cook & Schmid added to rotation list for city, county, port

Public relations, advertising and marketing firm, Cook & Schmid was recently selected for the city of San Diego, County of San Diego and Unified Port District 2013 rotation list, which retains consultants on an intermittent basis for a wide variety of professional services. The firm was specifically chosen to be considered for as-needed community relations professional services.

Upon project selection, the agency will provide strategic communications, including increasing the public's awareness and understanding of potential city, county and port development projects. Depending on the tasks assigned, the agency can help maximize transparency and public participation, provide stakeholder outreach services, coordinate public meetings and facilitate communication with elected officials and community groups.

Elevator to work with Asian Real Estate Association

San Diego creative agency Elevator has added the Asian Real Estate Association of America to its list of clients and also recently moved their company headquarters to Roosevelt Street in Carlsbad.

The nonprofit trade organization dedicated to promoting the sustainable home-ownership opportunities in Asian American communities, has partnered with Elevator to build out its annual conference platform by increasing the presence of its brand. Additionally, the organization will look to Elevator to provide access to maximum control over their website content and optimize the site for mobile through responsive design.

JLK Marketing lands Santa Barbara client

Hospitality and lifestyle public relations and marketing firm JLK Marketing + Communications has added ALCHEMY ARTS CENTER – Spa, Wellness Café to its list of lifestyle clients, where the agency will provide PR and media relations services to this retreat located in Santa Barbara.

The center is also home to the Alchemy Café which offers healthy meals and where the chef offers private consultations for nutritional guidance and menu planning.
