Peter Farrell is CEO and chairman of ResMed Inc., a leading developer, manufacturer and marketer of products for the screening, treatment and long-term management of sleep-disordered breathing (SDB) and other respiratory disorders.
Dr. Farrell is vice chair of the Executive Council of the Division of Sleep Medicine at Harvard Medical School and serves on the Board of Trustees at UCSD. On top of his numerous corporate board appointments, Farrell serves on several nonprofit boards. He has been the recipient of a number of awards including being named 2005 Ernst & Young Entrepreneur Of The Year in the Health Sciences Category.
Through the ResMed Foundation and Farrell Family Foundation, millions of dollars have been dispensed to fund clinical studies on SDB. In addition, corporate and personal support is given to educational programs in science and technology for underserved children, as well as arts and theater groups, both in San Diego and Australia.
