Dave Alberga

When you think of software companies, terms like "fitness" and "community involvement" aren't always the first words that come to mind. But they describe the culture of the Active Network, relating to both the company's customers and employees.

Much of this culture comes from the company's chief executive officer, David Alberga, a West Point graduate and admitted workaholic. Alberga said that he was looking for a company that would help him mix his two passions of business and fitness, and found it to be a small San Diego dot-com startup in the late 1990s.
