For nine years, Adam Shevel made the two-hour round-trip commute from his home in Santa Monica to his Burbank office, where he worked in a high-profile, high-stress position as an international marketing and branding specialist promoting donuts, ice cream and booze.
These days, he's taking a less traditional and far healthier career route -- not to mention shorter commute -- to finding personal fulfillment and business success.
The 35-year-old Kensington resident is the owner of the Hillcrest-based Knot Stop, a full-service massage studio with 10 treatment rooms and 33 certified therapists who spend seven days a week rubbing, stretching and pressing the pain and stress out of more than 2,000 clients a month.
