David Down is something of an anomaly in today's corporate world -- he has been with the same company for nearly 30 years. He joined the San Diego office of accounting firm KPMG LLP in June of 1976, the same month he graduated from San Diego State University.
In 1987, he was admitted to the firm's partnership. By 1994, he was made Managing Partner of the San Diego office. And in 1998, he was named Pacific Southwest Partner-In-Charge.
KPMG's San Diego office provides a full range of audit, tax and advisory services for public and privately held local companies.
"We've gone to great lengths over the last five years to be a full-service firm here in San Diego that doesn't have to rely on help from offices in Los Angeles or Orange County," said Down, describing the characteristics that distinguish KPMG San Diego from its competitors.
