Raymond Ashley

Looking through the periscope of a B-39 Soviet attack submarine, San Diego Maritime Museum executive director Raymond Ashley focuses in on the USS Midway, the American aircraft carrier adjacent to the museum on San Diego's Embarcadero.
This would have been a priceless view for a Russian sub in the depths of Cold War hostility, remarked Ashley, amused by the irony of the juxtaposition of two former enemies.
"An interesting way of interpreting history" seems to permeate the way in which Ashley runs his museum.
