California has some of the strictest environmental regulations in the country, so it's perhaps no surprise it is also home to national and international consulting firm Tetra Tech Inc., with over 250 offices worldwide and a market cap of just under a billion dollars.
The San Diego office is part of Tetra Tech EM Inc., its environmental division. The office specializes in environmental engineering and remediation, storm water compliance, homeland security, energy management and infrastructure consulting.
Chief Engineer Steve Geyer is quick to disabuse the notion that environmental policies are wishy-washy or a way of paying lip service to social responsibility. He stresses that conservation delivers real and tangible benefits to the bottom line.
At the core of Tetra Tech's approach is the need to "save the customer's money," Geyer said. Reducing the consumption of energy, water and other utilities not only ensures environmental compliance, but reduces bills.
