Whether the real estate market is in a state of stability or flux, Douglas Wilson, chairman and CEO of Douglas Wilson Cos., is going to be on top.
After the successful completion of the $160 million, 1.2 million-square-foot Symphony Towers, Wilson founded a company with a unique business model -- one that helps resolve problems for struggling companies and, at the same time, assists others with development and real estate services.
He's responsible for changing much of the city's skyline, including adding the 120-unit condominium Parkloft and the 33-story, steel-and-glass tower called The Mark, currently under construction.
Described by his colleagues as an intellectual visionary with street smarts, too, Wilson keeps active in the community with several professional and community organizations, including the Rotary Club of San Diego, the Urban Land Institute and the International Council of Shopping Centers.
He is chairman of the board of the University Club atop Symphony Towers.
