R. Michael Murphy, Murphy Development Co. president, was an Otay Mesa pioneer when he developed the first 350,000-square-foot industrial building for Sanyo Corp. 27 years ago. Now, he wants to make his mark again after a long and painful recession.
Adjacent to and just west of Murphy's 2-million-square-foot, 155-acre Brown Field Industrial Park, is the yet-to-be developed Brown Field Technology Park.
Plans call for more than 3 million square feet of Class A industrial and office space to go on 50 acres where celery used to grew.
The business park is being designed by San Diego-based Pacific Cornerstone Architects to accommodate industrial, flex (office/industrial) technology companies, and midrise office users.
