Multiple federal programs have tried and failed to untrack the nation's ailing housing market. Dave Van Waldick, owner of Carlsbad-based Western Mortgage, thinks he has a solution.
Now if only he could get someone to listen.
Perhaps taking the reins of the San Diego chapter of the California Association of Mortgage Professionals (SD-CAMP) will do the trick.
After getting more involved with SD-CAMP for the last three years, Van Waldick is now its president-elect.
"It's been important to me to stay close to (SD-CAMP), not only to stay close to the changes that are occurring at the regulatory level, but ... to push forward with the hopes and expectations that it will be a viable business," Van Waldick said.
