Among the countless things that changed as a result of the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks was the way banks transfer checks.
The American banking system was significantly stalled that week in 2001 because airports were closed and checks, normally sent via plane from one bank to another, couldn't go anywhere.
This led to Congress passing the Check Clearing for the 21st Century Act 2003, better known as "Check 21," a move that changed the trajectory of Vista-based Bluepoint Solutions.
