In San Diego County, Morrison & Foerster has represented an array of clients from the San Diego Padres to San Diego Gas & Electric to General Atomics -- the last being one of the few big local firms actually growing in this economy.
"We represented the Padres (and JMI Realty) on the ballpark (eminent domain) cases," Mark Zebrowski said. "The challenge there was having to win everything quickly or there wouldn't have been a ballpark."
Zebrowski, who said the Padres won at both the trial and the appellate court levels, said while most cases such as this are a battle over compensation, some people simply wish to keep a property more or less as it is in perpetuity.
