SAN DIEGO (Aug. 29, 2012) -- A vehicle born incendiary explosive device detonates on pier 8 at Naval Base San Diego during a simulated attack. The event was one of three major training scenarios held at Naval Base San Diego during Citadel Protect 2012. This tactical exercise is designed to test and assess Navy capability to protect ships from various potential threats in U.S. Naval ports.
