SAN DIEGO (Sept. 5, 2012) -- Chief petty officer selectees assigned to the guided-missile destroyer USS Higgins (DDG 76) form a representation of the raising of the flag during the Battle of Iwo Jima during a cadence competition during the 9th annual San Diego Chief Petty Officer (CPO) Pride Day at Balboa Park. San Diego CPO Pride Day is the largest on the West Coast with more than 2,400 senior enlisted Sailors throughout Navy Region Southwest celebrating naval customs, heritage and traditions.
