The project listed above is Categorically Exempt from the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) under State CEQA Guidelines Section 15303 (entitled New Construction or Conversion of Small Structures). The Class 3 Exemption applies to the conversion of existing structures to a store, motel, office or restaurant including up to four such structures up to a maximum of 10,000 square feet in urbanized areas. The project consists of the addition of an outdoor deck for a new restaurant at an existing building. Therefore, the Class 3 Exemption is applicable.
