10th AVENUE MARINE TERMNIAL
SECURITY LIGHTING - PHASE III

The work to be executed includes furnishing all labor, materials, equipment, and ancillary items necessary to install high mast light fixtures at perimeter of Tenth Avenue Marine Terminal (TAMT). Trenching, excavation, and installation of steel sleeves, concrete encased conduit duct banks and circuits in presumed contaminated soil. Demolition of existing light poles, bases, branch circuit, and miscellaneous equipment are part of this project.
The magnitude of this work is in the range of $850,000.00- $1,150,000.00.
The bidder must possess a valid California State Contractors License, Classification A at the time the contract is submitted.
Bids will be opened in public at or about that hour at 3165 Pacific Highway, San Diego, California, all as more particularly contained in Document No. 52672 on file in the office of the Clerk of the District. No Bidder may withdraw a bid after the date set for bid opening.
A pre-bid conference will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on January 24, 2008, in Conference Room 4 of the District Administration Building.

Plans and specifications may also be purchased for $80.00 per each set on or about January 11, 2008 during the hours of 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, excluding District holidays, from Corporate Services Print Shop, San Diego Unified Port District, P.O. Box 120488, San Diego, CA 92112-0488, or picked up in person at 3165 Pacific Highway, San Diego, California, Telephone Number (619) 686-6320. Shipment of plans and specifications by Federal Express is available at Bidder's expense (please provide a completed airbill with your request). The purchase price and cost of shipment are not refundable. The District will make one set of plans and specifications available to local plan file services.
In accordance with the provisions of the California State Labor Code, the District has obtained the general prevailing rate of wages (which rate includes employer payments for health and welfare, vacation, pension and similar purposes) applicable to the work to be done, for straight time, overtime, Saturday, Sunday and holiday work. All labor employed on this project shall be paid no less than such minimum rates of wages. These wage rates are available for inspection at the office of the Equal Opportunity Management Department of the San Diego Unified Port District.
It is the policy of the San Diego Unified Port District that certified Small Business Enterprises (SBEs) shall have the maximum opportunity to participate in the performance of District Contracts. Certified SBEs with qualifying experience are encouraged to respond to the request for proposals/bids/quotes, etc.
Bidder shall file the bonds as required by the Contract and Civil Code section 3247. The provisions of Public Contract Code section 22300 apply to this Contract.
In the public interest, the District reserves the right to reject any or all bids, or to waive any informality in a bid.
